Last week, Matt and I brainstormed about something really fun to do in this georgeous weather we’ve been having. Where better to enjoy it, we finally decided, than in the company of wild animals? I researched about pricing and we felt like the zoo membership was a really good deal because we can go to all the concerts this summer for free, go to zoo lights in December, plus, go to the zoo as many times as we want to over the next 12 months (an exciting prospect with baby Samudra, the elephant).
After we bought it, we discovered that the membership is tax deductible, whereas, just buying tickets would not have been.
We got there around 10, ate our sack lunch in courses while sitting on benches thoughout the day, and left around 3:30. It was such a blast! We really enjoyed the lorakeets. I, of course, liked the elephants the best (they are my favorite animal).

Although it would have been nice if it weren’t so crowded (Samudra is really a draw). I think about a third of our pictures are of the elephants! Matt really seemed to like the Stellar Cove Exhibit. It is one of those exhibits where you can see above the water and then walk a little ways and be in a tunnel seeing under the water. These type of exhibits are terrifying for me. It used to be that the polar bears were the scariest part of the zoo, but now I am not so sure!

After lunch, the zoo started to get really crowded, so we decided to head home. After all, we can go back any time we want! We drove home and ended up going to a BBQ thrown by some of our friends. What a great day!
No matter how long we are married, we hope to always remain newlyweds. We started this blog to keep a record of the funny and exciting things that happen in our lives. We hope that you enjoy it and look forward to hearing your thoughts.
A day at the Zoo! I haven’t been to the zoo in ages. It looks like the weather was perfect too. I like the elephants too; glad you had a fun time.
